Tharon
One of my name books says that Tharon is a variant of Theron. I wanted to know if this is really so. If not: what else could be the origin?
thanks!

Well, not quite. The "e" in Theron is an "eta" - the word is derived from "therama" meaning "prey".
The name Tharron (with two rs) on the other hand is derived from "tharros" meaning "courage".
In ancient times you needed tharros to be a theron! Nowadays, any cowardly bozo with a semi-automatic can wreak havoc among the poor and unsuspectins fawna.
PS I find your MAR logo above quite irresistible :P
