On the masculine name Noar
The masculine name Noar entered the TOP-500 in Germany 2016. I have little additional information except that the name is probably of Arabic or Kurdish origin (and, given that it appears in Germany in 2016, it is probably from Syria or Iraq).
Can someone here shed some light on the origin and meaning of Noar?
EDIT: Other linguistic possibilities include Assyrian/Aramaic; and with a different geographical background Eritrean

I'm thinking maybe from Arabic Nur meaning "Light", some sites says Noar is Hebrew and means "Enlightenment", or from French Noir meaning "Black".
There's an interesting discussion about the name Noar in Germany here, I think this might shed more light on the name:

Noar is a European Jewish surname. Somewhere put its use as surname 89%, first name 11%. One suggestion was the family was originally Schwartz, but it was changed to Noar (am irregular spelling variant of French Noir), possibly in Russia. This is probably unconnected with the first name.
