Yep...
If my memory serves me right, Topanga on "B.M.W.", is named after an area that's just outside of Los Angeles. Just "where the mountain meets the sea."
Topanga's parents was hippie-ish so that's why she was named Topanga.

US place name. See quote in post for meaning. Google is your friend! :)
What Does The Name "Topanga" Mean?
Excerpted from THE TOPANGA STORY, published by the Topanga Historical Society:
According to John P. Harrington, linguist on the staff of the Bureau of American Ethnology of the Smithsonian Institution: "The name 'Topanga' evidently means 'above' with reference to the village site being above the high water of Topanga Creek. The 'nga' with which the name ends means 'place' and the entire name apparently means 'above place' or, as we would say in current English, merely 'above'. The name is an old Shoshonean word and can also be used in reference to the sky or heaven."

Do you mean Tapanga?
I think Tapanga is teh right spelling. This is what I found, but I wouldn;t bet my life on it.
Tapanga: African, Hebrew sweet, unpredictable

Nope, it's definitely Topanga
What? I only watched a couple of eps! Lol.
Yes, the IMDb, TV Tome, and a other few sites I stumbled upon devoted to Boy Meets World in my Internet wanderings all have the name spelled Topanga.
But perhaps Topanga's was meant as a variant of Tapanga. *Shrug*
Topanga's once-seen sister has an equally odd name: Nebula.
Miranda
