Many of you will share my pleasure at this remarkable name ... and for a Law professor, too!

(NMMU = the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, based in the Nelson Mandela Metropole, better known as Port Elizabeth. It used to be known as the University of Port Elizabeth, but then it absorbed some smaller tertiary institutions and opted for a name change.)
So far, so remarkable. But, is there any information out there on how CS Lewis arrived at the name of his magical country? It seems unlikely that Prof B-M was named after the (putative) source instead of the books, but you never know - not until you've asked the experts, anyway.
