Info on Bennid?
Bennid Boleyn was a distant ancestral relative of Anne Boleyn. He/she died in 1436, but other than that I have no info on him/her. As you can see, I don't even know what sex this person was!Cursory Googling reveals that Bennid's also a surname, but mostly turns up Internet aliases and genealogical entries on Bennid Boleyn him/herself. I believe the Boleyn family was mostly generically English, but they may have had some French in them too. The surname Bennid turns up nowhere in the tree, for what that's worth.

Looking at the information about Bennid Boleyn found on the web, the only data given seems to be parents' names and year of death. So I wonder just how much documentary evidence really exists about this person. If all we have is one death record somewhere, it seems a good possibility to me that this was a man with the first name of Bennett or Benedict and whoever wrote out the death record in the parish register was just a poor speller.

Hm, that theory seems plausible. Thanks!I forgot to mention that Bennid is also listed in the Boleyn family tree in Alison Weir's The Six Wives of Henry VIII (1991). From what I've heard, Weir's considered one of the greats in Tudor research.
