Looking at a tattoo inscription of an arrow that is broken in two where it looks like an infinity sign between the tail of the arrow and the point of the arrow... in all the "on-line" lit it says it's a Swedish symbol. I just like the symbol and would like to know the exact origin and meaning... can someone help???

I've been doing some research for a writing project on this subject. It looks like it is a Swedish symbol and it means that you have to embrace setbacks in order to move forward in life.

I'm Swedish and I've never heard of this symbol. Could it be an old rune, perhaps? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runes

#11 at http://theodysseyonline.com/illinois/20-small-tattoos-big-meanings/80048 offers an interpretation, "You have to face setbacks to be able to go forward."
