Well, nivedinI is the closest Sanskrit word that comes to mind: the root there is vid meaning to know, with obvious cognates in many Indoeuropean languages. The prefix ni (cognate to the ne in words like nether) is a particle indicating down, back, within and similar meanings. Together, nivid has the sense of communicating, especially introducing, or offering, especially offering oneself; though the original meaning of instruction is still present in the oldest language.
nivedinI is the feminine of nivedI which means one who is aware, one who reports, or one who offers.
