Mairead Ni Fhlatharta has a CD called Ó chaon taobh, and the English translation of the title is "from both sides". Ó chaon means "from each" according to google translate.

Have you asked your parents where they got the name from? Perhaps they just made it up or misheard another similar name. Also, how do you pronounce it? I don't think Joiya's suggestions would count unless you were using the Greek or French pronunciations. It might just be a coincidence.

Actually, Chaon is a Greek mythology name (Χάων, gen.: Χάονος). According to Wikipedia: Chaon was a Greek hero and the eponymous ancestor of the Chaonians who gave his name to Chaonia, a district in northwestern Epirus in Greece.
He is referred to as Chaon of Troy. The name Chaon was also commonly used in Ancient Greece, so it can be considered outside of the mythological reference. There is also a town in France named Chaon. It's listed on this website here: http://www.behindthename.com/namesakes/14996
