Re: the Latvian female name Aelita
My family is from Latvia, my name is Aelita. I would like to submit corrections for my name, please.
The origin of my name does not come from the novel "Queen of Mars" c. 1923. It is an Old Latvian name/Ancient Latvian. It was my mothers name and she was born 1915. The name is used in the novel, but did NOT originate from a fictional character.
Two: The accurate pronunciation is: Ah/eh/li/tah (not pronounced separately, but blended) for example the A flows into the E as one vowel, (difficult to pronounce, unless fluent in Latvian.) Better correction here would be Ah/li/tah.
My grandmother and mother both have told me the meaning of our name(s) Aelita means "The stars in the heavens above" - (Best translated meaning from Latvian).
I wish I could be an editor here. So much to do, just from browsing around first time looking!
Please accept my information and edit my name Aelita. It's mine, it's my ancestors name and I claim the information to be correct. Thank you very much, Aelita Reiss Cover

Interesting! Do you happen to have any etymology for the name (as opposed to just a meaning)? That would be helpful.
