Re: girl names that mean Grateful or Thankful
in reply to a message by bob
I can't think of many other examples (besides those listed on this website) that have those literal meanings. The first thing that came to mind is Grata or Gratia, from the latin name Gratus. Have you considered using words with similar connotations, like grace, mercy, favour, or gift?
Grace, Gratiana, Grazia, Gracia, Graciella - obviously connected to words like grateful, gratitude
Mercy
Mercedes
Hannah, Anne, Anna + all its variants
Dora (Theodora, Isidora, Pandora, Eudora) - gift
Alexandrina, Annabella, Clementine, Charlotte, Emilienne, Florence, Frederica, Katharina, Mary (May), Maud, Penelope, Rosamund, Theodora (Teddy).
Aubrey, Axel, Benedict, Bertrand (Bertie), Cuthbert, Dashiell, Everard, John (Jack) Leopold (Leo), Magnus, Matthias, Maximilian (Max), Wilfred.

MERCY is closely related to "merci," French for "Thank you."
