Earliest use of Bryce.
Hey guys! So I was thinking about potentially using the name Bryce in a story of mine, which is set in a fantasy world (somewhat of a mix of dark/high fantasy).
Anyways, other than what this site tells me, I can't find much about the name - I know it comes from ancient Celtic, Bricius, and I know that Bryce comes from Brice, which also is the name of some saint in the 5th century. Beyond that though, I can't find anything for this exact spelling.
Anyone know the earliest usage of the spelling is? I know right now it's a fairly popular name, but I'm not sure if it is super modern or not. Ideally, I'm trying to avoid really modern names in my story, since it's a bit of an anachronism stew from the Roman ages through High Middle ages, with splashes of even earlier times for certain regions ect.
Any help would be appreciated!
