Lurancy and Eryl
I was reading a book called Exploring the Unknown and found two names I can't find the meaning of.
The first one is from the story of the "Watseka Wonder" of 19th century Illinois, where a girl was apparently spiritually possessed. Her name was Lurancy. Does anyone know anything about this name?
The other was a story about a girl dreaming about the Aberfan disaster in Wales 1966, which later claimed her life. Her name was Eryl. It's apparently Welsh, but what does it mean?
Does the sea exist
Because of our longing?

I have a Lurancy in my family tree, who was born in 1798. I suspect it is an American creation, possibly based on Laurence/Lorenzo or Laura and Nancy. I've seen other created names like Isannah, Martitia, etc.
Several websites have the meaning of Eryl as "lookout" or "watcher", but I don't know how accurate that is. Here's one: http://www.namenerds.com/welsh/trad1.html
