Yet another AWESOME Name Game
Seeing as how ***JEN*** hasn't been back in a week to give us the answers to her Awesome Name Game, I decided to make up one of my own. It's very simple.
To find out what your cool name for the New Millennium might be, simply answer these two questions:
#1. On what day of the month were you born?
#2. What are the LAST 3 digits of your telephone number? (Please don't post your entire telephone number here!)
To find out what your cool retro name might be, answer these three questions:
#1. If you could jump into the amazing Wayback Machine and travel back to *any* decade in the past century (1900s through 1990s), which decade would you choose to visit?
#2. On what day of the month were you born?
#3. What are the LAST 3 digits of your telephone number? (Please don't post your entire telephone number here!)

Sorry I can't do Ancient Greek Times -- yet. But I'm working on it. :) In the meantime you can choose any American decade from the 1900s through the 1990s for your Retro Name.

Sorry, but your Retro '60s name didn't come out sounding very hippified, either: "Cheryl Michael".
If you like, Love, I'll anagram a special hippie name for you out of your own name later this evening. You would have to give me your first, middle and last name, if you don't mind posting it here. If you don't want to post your last name, then just give me your mother's maiden name in place of your last name, and I'll work with that. :)
Your hippie name will have special significance, because it will be made up of all of the letters of your actual name -- which means that it already belongs to you. We just have to find out what it is! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome Nan!
Being a nostalgic fellow, I opt for Charles Martin :)) Tyler Chase sounds like a hyperactive and stressful stockboker character out of a soap opera :P
Ronald Roosevelt LOL!!
Great synthesis, quite representative of Daividh's professed ideological bearings ("pro-life but anti-NRA etc etc") :)

The hippies may have wanted to exchange guns for flowers, but I think it would be more practical to exchange bullets for RU-486 pills in this country. It might eventually put the daytime teevee talk show hosts out of business.

More people would wholeheartedly support abortion in this country if they made it retroactive...

"Clair"?! "Clair"?!! Couldn't you at least make it "Eclair" so I could honestly tell the boys it meant "lightning bolt" before they beat the crap out of me down at the ol' saloon?!!
Sorry, Daividh, but as you know, back in those days mommas even used to dress their sons in girlie dresses until they were at least three years old (sometimes older). :)

I'll give you all four! :)
1910s (Era of the Titanic): "Lillian Twila".
1920s (The Jazz Era): "Jean Mandy"
1940s (WW II Era): "Donna Margret"
1990s (The Age of the Internet): "Hannah Meagan"
As for going back further in time with my Name Game, I'll see what I can figure out. It's just a matter of getting a list of representative names for a particular time period and working out a consistent formula for the game. :)

I really like each of the names given. I was asking about the going back further because I'm kinda "stuck" in some of the older decades. I even dress in a slightly modified 1890's style (check out Patterns of Time at http://www.patternsoftime.com or Harper House at http://www.longago.com).
There are other time periods that I dress up for, but I'm not sure you'ld want to try Irish Renaissance or Colonial/Fur Trade.

Nope, I can't. Brightly colored clothing makes me... uncomfortable. I can wear a *bit* of color on something that's basically black, as in my now-famous ski sweater photo that Capt'in ChePriapos and Daividh unearthed, but that's about it.

What?
If she keeps that name, she might be lucky in love. I've seen a lot of Fannys get kissed in the last 30 years of workplace politics!
(Actually, my favorite person named Fanny was the mayor's wife in the little town we lived in 15 years ago: a nice lady about 70 who bore the name Fanny Washer!)

If we have any Aussies posting on this board, I think you may have absolutely shocked them with the anecdote about the 70-year-old mayor's wife who was a fanny-washer. :D (Note: "fanny" in Australia does not mean "backside".)
