RE: Witrance/Whitterance
Hi, Mike,
A fellow in England and I have been tracking a mutual ancestor named Witrance/Whitterance Cope. We have found records indicating he lived in England though might have originally moved there from Germany. Neither of us was familiar with the name Whitterance and we were curious if this name might be one your group has ever researched. If not, are there any suggested sites or individuals you might recommend for finding the etymology of such an unusual name? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas you might suggest.
Sincerely,
Julie

It looks like a surname, so you might want to ask this question on the surname message board: http://surnames.behindthename.com/bb/sur
