I just want to get this out loud and clear...whenever somebody is writing down your name like on a poster or typing it or something..TELL THEM HOW TO SPELL YOUR NAME BEFORE they write it down..because they might misspell it! I've had a lot of experiences w/ people saying that my name is spelled "Haley " but some people have weird spellings with names. So please tell people how to spell your name or if your writing their name then ask them how to spell your name.

I, unfortunately, can empathize. I keep telling people to spell my name Phyllis , but I've had it come out Fillis, Phyliss, Filiss, Filliss, Philliss... (I think you get the point). When I ask to be called Phyl, it's worse spelling-wise.

Good advice, Hayley.

Especially since your own name has so many different spellings. A quick check of the Top 1,000 Names of the year 2000 reveals the following forms of your names, and their rankings:

Thanks! I'm really glad that my name is unique, but it's too bad that it has so many different spellings. Oh well!
