It means aunt in Spanish
Well, I checked, and indeed it is easy to find numerous pages saying that Tia is a name of Greek origin meaning "princess". The same is said about Tiana (of which Tia could be a short name), with the occasional page thrown in that says Tiana means princess in Gaelic instead of Greek.
What I could not find however is any confirmation that this info is true and not only endlessly copied from one website to another.
I personally doubt the "princess" meaning.

I agree that the "princess" meaning is probably wrong.
I've checked a online Greek dictionary, and the words in Greek for "princess" appear to be prigkípissa and vasilopoúla. Neither looks anything like Tia or Tiana. I also checked an Irish Gaelic dictionary, and none of the words for "princess" resemble Tia or Tiana.
There was however an Ancient Egyptian princess called Tia:

However I can't find any source for the Ancient Egyptian meaning of the name.
