My wife and I would like to name our son after my late father. Our son would be Robert Joseph Surname II. The problem is that my grandmother felt there were too many Josephs in the family and thus my father's birth certificate reads "Robert Joe Surname". Can we justifiably use the suffix "II" if our son's middle name is Joseph and not Joe, considering he will in fact be named after his grandfather?
