I keep coming across this name in the SSA database. Does anyone know where it comes from? (girls' name) Is it just a typo for Chloe? How about Khole? (i.e., my niece's middle name is officially Syndey on her SS card and birth cert when it should be Sydney--accidents do happen!)

Yes, Chole and Khole are probably just typographical errors for Chloe and Khloe. "L" and "O" are next to each other on the typical English language keyboard and so it would be a particularly easy error to make.
There are some such errors that seem to be particularly common. "Joesph" for Joseph turns up a lot, probably again because "E" and "S" are adjacent on the keyboard.
