Does anyone know the meaning of the Persian/Farsi feminine name Azam? I came across it through the Iranian-born singer Azam Ali. However I can't find any information on Azam as a feminine name - the name sites list it as a male Arabic name, meaning "great". Does the female Persian Azam mean the same?

I was actually able to find this out - according to The Complete Book of Muslim and Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi and Ozair Husain, the Persian name Azam means "progeny; offspring".
