Re: Jody for a boy
in reply to a message by Rosemary
I love my name Jody. I happen to be a girl. It is truly a name for either boys or girls(ambisexual). I've known guys with this name and they were not "girly"
I am actually named after my great, great-grandmother. But, I think she may have spelled it Jodie, not sure. The other spelling Jodi, I simply hate!!!
I have just recently been thinking if I were to have a son, I might name him Jody. So, go for it.

Hello, and thanks for your wonderful insights. My name is also Jody, and I am a male. Personally, I have always loved my name, and aside from the annoying people who insist that it is only a girl's name, it really seems to fit me. So yes, go ahead and name your baby Jody, it is certainly an original name! Thanks again. Jody.
My given name is Joan (pronounced like Jo Ann) but I acquired the nickname, Jody, in my childhood. I never had a middle name, so it looked like I was named for the movie star. I now use my maiden name Crawford just as middle initial "C". I always thought Jody was the earlier version of spelling, more recently updated to Jodi or Jodie for girls, and Jody for boys. But I really like my name, and most people think it is my "real" name. I do agree it is fine for a boy, also, though. There was a young movie star, years ago, that played in a movie of "The Yearling", and the character's name was Jody.
