I'm doing some genealogy research and came across a man named Theoren. He was born around 1880 in the United States, of Irish descent. I'm guessing his name is a variant of either Theron or Theirn. Does anyone have any background on Theoren, or if it might be a variation of some other name?

There was a hockey player in the NHL named Theoren Fleury who was Canadian (from Saskatchewan according to Wikipedia). I know that doesn't help with the meaning, but just throwing it out there that someone else has that name.

Yeah, I did come across his name when I was searching... it's good to know, it makes me think less that Theoren was a spelling error by the clerk or something!
