Most likely related to the word cherith, which is also used as a first name (making Kerith a variant of Cherith).

Awesome name? Haha interesting attitude but uhm are you a guy or girl? What's your ethnicity? That helps us guess where your name might be from. But I'm guessing it's a variant of Kennith - click the link for more info. Maybe ask your mom where she got the idea?
