Reminds me of Athanasia or something- just aguess- sounds like a Frenchified Greek name.

Really wild guess

Wondering if it might be a transliteration / adaptation of αφθαρσια (aphtharsia = 'incorruptibility') - see post on ops board, have to cook dinner!

I did just find someone else on a blog use the word spelled as "aphtasia"...

"For he (Christ) has broken the power of death and brought life and immortality (aphtasia) to light through the Gospel. (2 Timothy 1. 10 NEB)"
