Ebbe
Hi, Out of interest I searched for the meaning of EBBE and was disappointed to see it as a masculine name (German, Scandinavian) in fact short for EBERHARD. However, I must make mention that EBBE is also derived from the name ELIZABETH and EBBETH. A beautiful name for a darling girl. What do other people think?

If it's derived from Elizabeth by you alone, it doesn't count. If you have a reliable source that you can quote and that can be checked, then send it on to Mike C and in many months from now (Mike's a busy man) it will appear here.
I must say that I've seen just about every possible nickname for Elizabeth, and Ebbe has never been among them; similarly, all the Ebbes I've ever known have been males.

Ebbe is a typical name for old men in Sweden. It's never used for girls.
