I had heard of the name Esperancia and heard that it meant "hope" in French. I knew that it was similar to the Spanish "Esperanza", so I thought this was right. But, I checked and "hope" in French is "espoir". Does anyone know the meaning of Esperancia, where it comes from, and what language it is?

Strange - why do you post exactly the same question again?
I would second the answer you got the first time: Esperancia probably comes from some word in some Romance language meaning 'hope', but because somebody took the liberty to change the spelling a little bit (something that happens quite often) it's not possible anymore to be sure exactly which language that was, and strictly speaking the altered name is not in any particular language anymore.
