I was hoping that someone more experienced than me
in the Turkmen/Turkic language could help me out here! I would be extremely
appreciative.
I was wondering if Turkmen words were gender specific. For example, the
name "Yarymchakan" meaning 'Half' (yarym) 'Blue eyes' (chakan): If this
name were given to a girl with one blue eye and one brown eye would it stay as it was or would it alter due to gender to "Yarmchakana" or something similar?

Hello Kris,
in most cases if you give a girl a name, then the ending is different from when you give the same name to a boy. Only thing is make sure you put an ending that is from a Turkic dialect giving the name a female gender and not from a nonTurkic language.

I know something about Turkish. I suppose Turkmen is similar.
As far as Islamic names are used, they actually can have both masculine and feminine form.
The names of Turcic origin, however, cannot have any gender. This is only the tradition that performs some masculine/feminine assignment.
