Novalie?
It's a most interesting name... could anyone explain it's origin? (I imagine it's related to Nova). And how is it percieved in Sweden - trendy, classic, made up?

The name Novalie could be related to Nova which means star and new. It was also the name of the main character in the movie “where the heart is” played by Natalie Portman, even though she spelled it Novalee.
In Sweden, this is very new name, and it is considered to be trendy. In 2010 it was ranked in place 99, of 100 and it’s rising in popularity, 129 girls got this as their first name in 2010, compared to only 74 in 2009.
Nova was more popular and was ranked in place 22 on the list(2010).
Personally I think it’s a beautiful name.

Novalie is made up by combining Nova and Li. There are several spelling variations: Novalie, Novali, Novalee, Novalii, Nova-Lee, Nova-Li etc.
I think many people think of it as trendy and juvenile. The name was very, very, very uncommon prior to now. There are only 18 Novalie (+ spelling variations) born before 1993. The oldest Novalie is 46.
