I would like to get some information on my boyfriend's name...First name is Mervyn. I did a search for the name on your site but did not get a match..Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chelsie

"Mervyn" is an anglicized form of the Welsh name "Myrddin" -- which was also the true name of the famous wizard of King Arthur's court ("Myrddin Emrys" in Welsh) who is more popularly known as "Merlin". Some reference works give the meaning of the name as "sea friend", and others as "sea hill".
