I can't find anything about the meaning of this name, the only thing i have come across is that it may be a variant of some Albanian names. I am thinking it is probably closer to English place names like Walton or Dalton. Does anyone know anything about this? I am thinking this because the WWII soldier Romus Valton Burgin was born in 1922 in Texas and I highly doubt that Joseph Harmon and Beulah May would name their child a name of Albanian origin :)

From what I have found, I agree that it is a place name like Walton and Dalton, but I can't find a meaning. I would suggest an inquiry on the sister site, Behind the Surname: http://surnames.behindthename.com/ The folks there are more accustomed to finding the meanings of surnames rather than given names. :-)
