Hello all-
I was just wondering if any of you are familiar with the name Eion (like the actor Eion Bailey). I'm wondering about the pronunciation, meaning and origin. It sounds Gaelic to me. Is it pronounced like 'Ian'? It's such a cool name, I'm curius to find out about it.

It is Irish Gaelic and is either like Owen or it could be pronounced like Ewan (you-an). I want to say it's a form of John but I think my Irish naming book said that it was different than Owen (which is a Welsh form of John). I can't remember! :(
