Well, Dinja is Croatian word for cantaloupe (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantaloupe). I've never seen it used as a name, but
Dunja (Quince -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quince ) is a common name.
It is also possible that it's a nickname in vein of
Sonja/
Tanja, etc. for
Diana or another
Di- name.
ETA:
Google has also revealed that dinya is an Arabic and Kurdish word. In Kurdish it means 'world'.
