I've never heard of that name nor could I find it in any of my books. All I could dig up was LENAS, a Lithuanian name (the computer programme has the name not the meaning).
You say your grandfather was French, so I have another idea which I admit is a bit crazy: "Le nez" in French means "the nose" and the Z and S may have gotten mixed up. In the middle ages a lot of people were named after a distinctive feature of their appearance - why not a nose? So all you have to do is to find out whether any of your ancestors had big noses … ;—)
