I can't find the name anywhere. But I came across the name MAJELLA, originally a family name. There was even a saint by the name Gerardus Majella (1726-1755). My source* says that MAJELLA is of uncertain derivation, possibly taken from the Latin word "maius" ("bigger, greater"). Whether MAJEL has anything to do with it I don't know.
