Can anyone tell me the origin and meanings of the following old French names I've come across:
Evochild - The name of a woman who lived in the fifth or sixth century. Child must be related to Hild but what about Evo?
Marcovefa - She lived in the sixth century.
Biette - She lived in the 14th century.

Just one piece of the puzzle: I suspect that the second part of Marcovefa (or Marcoveifa) is the same as in Genova (or Genoveifa), which lead to the modern name of Geneviève:

The possible meaning of simply "woman" of this part (maybe related to the modern English word "wife"?) can be found in several places on the Internet.
