etymology of a name
Can anyone shed some light on the ethymology of the Greek female name Xarikelia. Haricliea?Thank you

I've never heard of that name. But there a quite a number of Greek names beginning in CHARI. This of course would mean that the greek letter X (chi) has been changed into a Latin X (eks), a thing that might possibly happen, but I don't really know about that. I couldn't find any vocabulary word starting with XAR- (the Greek letter KSI).
Now CHARIS means "grace", but the second element is harder to tell: Spelled with an ETA in Greek there is a word KELIOS (flaming), spelled with an EPSILON I could find kelainos (black), keloio (drive, call upon) or keles (racing horse).
All of this doesn't really make a lot of sense to me - but other names don't either …
