Finn (Male, Scandinavian)
I'm trying to track down the meaning of the name "Finn", from the Old Norse root "finnr". Some places on the net say it means wetland, or white (same as Celtic), or even fisherman.

I've also read that Finn could mean "Saami" in old Swedish. And the Saami are certainly wandering, with their reindeers.
It is carved on a rune stone "Finn ristade runorna" (Finn carved the runes).
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Is that book available in English?
Not that I know of, but you basically find the same information in Hanks & Hodges's A Dictionary of First Names, which certainly is available in English. :)
