Is the Hebrew name Roni pronounced RO-nee or RON-nee?

It's a popular name in Israel, it made the top 15 at one point.

RO-nee. This is my mother's name. However, she pronounces it RON-nee. We live in the US though; the first pronounciation would be too difficult.

It's RO-nee...but also it's an english name and it's Rah-nee and it(s a Diminutive of VERONICA.
and in herbrew it means "My song".
