My middle name, from my great grandfather, is Ebele. My ancestors are from Holand. Does anyone know exactly what this name means?
Thanks!

Hi M,
Ebele is a Frisian pet form of Ebe, which is a Low German and Dutch short form of Old German names starting with Eber- (e.g. Eberhard, Eberwin etc.). - "Eber" means 'wild boar'. Ebe is also a short form of Edelbert, which is a newer form of the Old German name Adalbert, "adal" meaning 'noble', "bert" meaning 'bright, famous'.
