meaning of my name
All of my life people have asked me what my name means and I am always at a loss.
I am a female and of hispanic (Spanish and Mexican) descent.
I have never been able to find the meaning and would like to know. I hope you may be of some assistance to me.
Thanks,
Siria

Richard Woods's Hispanic First Names gives Siria as a feminine short form of Ciriaco.
José Albaigés Olivart's Diccionario de Nombres de Personas lists Sira, Siriardo, Siricio, Sirico, Sira and Siro as Spanish given names. It is possible that Siria is a deliberate alteration of one of them.
But I think it's most likely that this is simply a direct transfer from the place name, as Siria seems to be the normal spelling of the name of the country which is Syria in English.

please help me
But Siri is a feminine name
Siri is short for Sigrid. Though maybe you meant "variation of Siri". But I don't think the Scandinavian Siri is known in Spain/Mexico etc.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Actually, I didn't even notice that.
