You can translate your name in Cherokee:English: Susan
Cherokee Phonetics: su-sa-(ni)
English Phonetics: soo saw
Cherokee: fonts not available here, see: http://www.wehali.com/tsalagi/index.cfm?event=search and enter "susan" in the search box and click translate. or:
Susan = susa(no) [sue san]
Susanna = susaena [su sa a na]

Even though the site claims to translate, these seem more like transliterations than translations. I guess, they represent the traditional `corresponding' name among the Cherokees, using Cherokee phonetics, even if the name is ultimately borrowed. if you have Cherokee fonts on your computer, you should be able to see ᏑᏌ(Ꮒ/Ꮓ)/ᏑᏌᎠᎾ.

You are completely right about the transliterations. Egyptianpanda already wrote the true origin of the name. I concluded that Shoshannah might be interested in how to spell her name in Cherokee, which indeed is not a real translation.

Your name is not Cherokee. It is Hebrew. Click on Shoshannah to find out more.~Ilana~
