Zoila
Does anyone know the meaning of the name feminine Zoila? It's used in Latin America, but I don't think it's a traditional Spanish name. I've seen a few websites claiming it to be a variant of Zoe, but that seems quite unlikely to me.
Also, how is Zoila pronounced?
Thanks for your help. :)

Actually, I did some research and found that Zoila is a traditional Spanish name, and it is used in Spain. I think Zoila is a feminine form of Zoilo, which is Spanish for the Ancient Greek name Zoilos.
Right, but in regard to your original question, Zoila (lively) *is* related to Zoe (life).
