In Italy, is the name Sofia only used spelled like this or also in the -ph- variant(Sophia)?

Sofia is the greek spelling as far as I know and that is our last child's name
I once read an article about Sophia Loren
Where she stated that she was mocked by people in Italy because of her name - call SOP-hia because ph did not make an f sound in that language.
