Message: "Tavia?" - Behind the Name

The name Tavia is not in the database. Would anyone know it's orgin and meaning? Is this name related to Tovia or possibly Octavia? Thank you.

My name book lists Tavia as a form of Octavia and this is how I've always heard of it.

Since I'm not familiar with Tovia I can't comment on that (is it related to Tova?).

Thanks! I was wondering about Octavia as well. I added that in and then read your message. That makes sense that it would be short for Octavia. I don't know if Tovia and Tova are related or not. I like both those names though. :P
