Frius Furu...possible meanings?

In a family tree, I came across the name Frius (first name) Furu (last name). The bearer was a male, but I do not know the person's ethnic background. Does anybody know what the first and/or last name could mean? Thanks!

All the instances of the last name Furu I could find were Norwegian or Finnish. I suspect it's Norwegian, as it's the word for 'pine' in Norwegian. No luck with the first name, though. Maybe it's a short form of Fritjof?
