meaning of Hebrew name

My paster gave a message using the Hebrew name "Joheved".
He said it ment "
YAHWAH is glorified "
I cant find it on he web, can you verify it for me?
It is also the name of Mose's mother, I did find that.

Have you tried the spellings Yoheved or Yocheved in your search? That might bring better results.~Ilana~

In the Bible, JOCHEBED (the usual English form of Yokheved) is the mother of Moses. The meaning of the name is not clear. M.Noth (Die Israelitischen Personennamen im Rahmen der gemeinsemitischen Namengebung, Hildesheim 1929/1966) assumes it might be Egyptian or of some other foreign origin. However, he says it could be composed of the the two elements JA (short for Jahweh, the name of God) and KAVOD, glory. In that case, Jochebed would be the first person mentioned in the Bible bearing a name with the element JA(WEH).
The translation "Ja is glorified" would be correct, He is glorified through the child he has given.

"Yaweh" is the Gentile "translation" of the Hebrew יהוה, the name of God. The name is considered "un-utterable" and was only spoken on the High Holy Days when the Temple in Jerusalem still stood, and then only by the High Priest.The four "un-utterable" letters are called the "Tetragrammaton."Here is a brief Wikipedia article concerning the Name.
