Dorigen - the name
My Aunts' name DORIGEN has always interested me I suppose because it it so unusual - I was told by my grandparents, her mother that she was named after a racehorse which won a prestigious race back in 1936 when she was born - having looked up her name on your site I now know that was not true!!!!
At last a decent site - looking forward to be part of it
Thank you

What information on this site led you to believe that the story of your aunt being named after a racehorse was not true?
There was indeed a race horse called Dorigen who won a race called the William Hill Lincoln in 1933:

Your grandparents may have had the year a little off, but just because the name Dorigen wasn't invented for the horse, it doesn't follow that your aunt wasn't named for it. :)
