Morgan is a tradional male name from the Old Welsh Morcant, -cant being an Old Celtic element meaning 'circle, completion'. In the latter part of the 20th Century it has been occasionally used outside of Wales as a female name, perhaps due to Morgana le Fay in the legends of King Arthur and films depicting that story. But in Wales, and most of the UK for that matter, it remains a male name.
