All I know is that this is a female name. I am wondering if this is an original, or a combination of like Anne and Amy or something. Can anyone help?

ANNEMIE is a German name, a pet form of Annemarie, used mainly in the middle and the south of Germany. In has been rare, was a little bit en vogue after the war until maybe the 70s and has gone out of fashion since.

That's correct, I live in Bavaria (German south) and I know a woman named Annemie. She's in her fifties.

ETA: It's pronounced AHN-nə-mee.

Looks Dutch to me, possibly German, a shortened version of Annemarie or Annemieke. "AH-ne-mee" like Annelie, but Anna + Mieke/Marie instead of Anna + Liese. That's my guess. : ) Lovely name by the way.
