Pelleas
Can somebody help me finding the meaning of the male name Pelleas ?
It comes from Claude Debussy's "Pelléas & Mélisande", and I assume it's greek.
Thanks in advance,
Andria.

From the Greek Ðçëåýò (across the Latin Peleus), perhaps derivated from the Greek ðÜëëù, "to brandish, to throw, to shake with strenght", or perhaps from the Greek ðçëüò, "mud, mire".

Just a little clarification
> Greek ðçëüò, "mud, mire".
The word is both classical and contemporary Greek means "clay", more so than "mud".
