igh-sa
I heard this name on a youngish girl, i don't know how to spell it or the origin. Some of my friends have miscellaneously guessed greek, norwegian, arabic, even ancient egyptian! Anyone genuinely know? I'd love to know the meaning, but just how to spell it would be useful,
phonetically pronounced igh-sa/eye-sa

Aisha
means "alive" in Pakistani. It's in the database. I knew someone Pakistani with this name though. So I guess it's not only popular in Arabic-speaking countries.

O sorry, I misread that. I thought it was IGH-SHAH.
My best guess would be Isa (click on it for the meaning). I've known it to be pronounced both as IE-sa and EE-sah
It could have been Åse (AW-sah) pronounced differently? It's in the database, btw.
